Customer Review: FUNCTIONAL BUT CAN’T GIVE IT 5 STARS
I received this blender as a gift and use it all the time to make frozen drinks. It works really well for the most part and the spout is great. However the spout always seems to clog up with ice and you end of having to pour it like a normal blender.

I purchased this blender about a year ago from Wal-Mart. I’ve had a number of blenders over the past 30+ years but always ended up giving them away because I seldom if ever used them — too much bother — and have this thing about getting rid of unused stuff but finding yet another excuse why I “need” to buy another blender. I got it strictly for smoothies. My sister convinced me they were good for me, but I wasn’t about to pay $3-4 a pop for one smoothie. I was going to do all the research but saw this blender in Wal-Mart and just liked how it looked and really liked the price, around $18 at the time. I thought the spout thingee was neat, but I was really blown away by the 500 watts on this thing. I figured how bad could it be with 500 watts. If it blew out after recouping the price of 4-5 smoothies, it would be a fair tradeoff in my view. I’m not a technical person but after comparing the wattage of this one with the others on display, I thought what have I got to lose?

It’s plastic, very lightweight and easy to move around. That works for me. Soooo easy to clean and disassemble when doing a thorough clean. Immediately after use I rinse it, fill it less than half full with hot water and a drop of liquid detergent, hold the lid down and give it a couple of whirls on pulse. Take it off and shake it around to get the top clean, then rinse again and make sure I open the spout to let it drain. If you don’t clean it right away, you’ll have to scrub it clean. You can disengage the spout and attach it to the bottom of the base, replacing it with the screw cap (also at the bottom of base) if you don’t want to use the spout. My smoothies are so thick now I just pour it out.

The first few times I used it, I smelled burning rubber but I do push this thing as far as filling it with ice and whatever else I want and doing it as quickly as I can, using the setting that gives me the quickest results, be that pulse or smoothie or whatever. Again, I like this blender so much I figure I’ll replace it with the same if I blow it and it’s not under warranty. So far, so good. I don’t know what the warranty is — it’s probably expired.

No more burning rubber even though I still fill it with ice and a mixture of everything. I’m reading “Green for Life” so I’ve added greens, celery, carrots and other vegetables, chia seed gel, flax seed, a little honey, etc., to my juice and fruit mixtures, both frozen banana and other fresh and frozen fruit, all of these things at the same time. DELICIOUS! My husband didn’t like the vegetables added at first but now he really looks forward to them, which is just about every day or every other day now. The blender works like a charm. It doesn’t pulverize the greens (spinach or romaine lettuce)100%. There’s a small amount of greens that doesn’t get chopped up - but very minute bits that aren’t that noticeable and not worth the price for a higher-priced, “better” blender, as none of them get 5-star reviews anyway and mine works well enough to suit my needs. No problem whatsoever with ice. It has only bogged down on me once, but I just turned it off and nudged it around with wooden spoon and it’s been good to go. Now, if I can remember, I put the ice cubes in after the juice, which is first. Sometimes I put them in last.

I’m not that easy to please, but I’m very satisfied with this blender. It’s still a pleasure to use. I’m sending one to my son for his bday.

Customer Review: TERRIBLE customer service
This blender worked as well as everyone says… for 4 months. Then it died. It screeches horribly when you turn it on. It’s warranted for one year, so we went to Breville’s website & called them on the phone. We spent a whole day trying to call, we used their “callback service” but never heard back, we waited on hold for several hours. Then at exactly 5:00pm after all that holding on the phone, a voice abruptly stated: “We have closed for the day (period).” Breville bills itself as a premium company. I would guess we will never buy a Breville product again.

A wonderful blender - great looks, works every time, simple controls. I’d give it a five-star if it wasn’t a bit on the expensive side. I don’t know what the fuss is about with the noise level in previous reviews. This is quieter than the 5-year-old Kitchen Aid we had to throw out because its motor burned out and the vendor no longer carries a replacement part. For a $100 blender?? Come on, Kitchen Aid! And the motor burned out because of poor design of the blade assembly, which tended to stick.

I’ve been using the food processor to make dough, but I hate dragging that machine out and really wanted a simple pastry blender.

I decided to get a pastry blender, like the one I used during Home Ed. in grade school. I searched and search but it looked like the stores don’t carry them. It could be because customers would return it after it breaks from a single use.

After researching, I decided to get this model and it really works, doesn’t bend or break and takes up very little space. I don’t need to drag out the food process anymore. This is a very well designed product.

Customer Review: Makes mornings faster!
This is great for making smoothies in the a.m. I haven’t had any problems with it - I use frozen fruit and juice and it works great. The cup is HUGE - I wish it were a bit smaller, say 12 oz. I use this almost every morning and have used it for about 2 mos. and it works fine.
Customer Review: One big hassle
It gives off some sort of burning oil smell when it’s running. It can sit there and not chop up anything without constantly helping it along. And when you go to take the lid off, the base of it gets screwed on so tight while it’s running, it’s nearly impossible to get it off.

Customer Review: Meets my power and durablity needs even after a year of use
I purchased this Breville Cordless Immersion Blender a year ago and have been satisfied with my purchase. I bought it because I frequently make smoothies (at least 3-4 times per week) and puree soups and wanted something more convenient than lugging down my full-sized blender. Because I have a small galley kitchen I also wanted something that could sit on my countertop while taking up minimal space.This has fit the bill for me.
When I first received this blender I found it a bit tricky to use as for safety purposes you have two hold down two buttons simultaneously, the Power button and Speed button. At first it was very awkward and I found myself using two hands, but over time I have become more comfortable with this arrangement and can do it mindlessly with one hand.
From a power standpoint, this blender meets my needs. I use it to blend thick dips and smoothies with frozen fruit and it does so efficiently. I use it so often infact that my regular blender no longer gets much use. As another reviewer mentioned it does stall out periodically to protect the motor (and does so more frequently with thick mixtures or ones containing ice), but this hasn’t caused me a problem. It is functional again within seconds so it does not really slow down my preparation. I would agree it would be much better if this wasn’t necessary, but haven’t found it to be too annoying. I have also never had a problem with it running out of a charge when I am using it. I always keep it in the charging base between uses and as a result have always found it has enough power for what I need.
I have also found the product to be very durable despite using it 4+ times per week. I frequently wash the mixing jug in the top rack of the dishwasher and haven’t had any problems with cracking or chipping. Similarly my smoothie attachment and ice crushing blade are both in perfect condition.
Besides the fantastic power and durability the thing I love most about this blender is how portable it is. I do not have many outlets in my kitchen so I appreciate being able to use wherever I need to without having to locate the appropriate outlet. Because of this I blend a lot of soups, beans, etc. right on the stove top which is very convenient and much safer for me than having to pour it in a blender. I’ve also found that using it makes it much easier to control the exact texture I want. I can easily choose to make something extra smooth or a little chunky.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. After a year of frequent use it has held up well and continues to meet my expectations. My only gripe is that I wish it didn’t require me to push two buttons to use it or that the buttons were positioned differently so as to be easier to control with one hand. However, this is something I have become used to over time with frequent use. I will also say that not only am I willing to give it 4 stars but I have also “put my money where my mouth is” and purchased a Breville Dual-Disc Juice Extractor, which to me is a testament to how much I trust this brand and their products.
Customer Review: Never worked right
This blender never worked right and I should have sent it back before the warranty was up. It had trouble charging and would stall when I used it. I thought it was operator error (the buttons are awkward) but I’ve finally decided it’s the machine not me. I will be looking for a different brand to replace this product.

I started using hand blenders when my first baby was born. I made him all of his food at home and there was nothing easier than the hand blender. Fast Forward 15 years and I’m on my 4th blender. I like the Bosch brand and had seen this one with a renoun Chef’s name added. I got a much better price here. The blender itself is not very powerful, but sufficient for most easy jobs. I really like the fact that it is cordless.

Customer Review: Great blender, OK for smoothies
I bought this to replace a dying 7 year old Oster blender that didn’t even see much use. I use this new blender a few times a week to make smoothies and less frequently for food processing.

I like that this blender is more powerful and has a larger capacity than my old blender. It is attractive and solidly made. I’ve only had it for a couple of months, but I haven’t had the problem with ice that others report. Then again, I use more frozen fruit than ice in my smoothies. My favorite part of this machine is the stir stick. I don’t know how I ever got along without one.

My main gripe with this blender is that the smoothie dispenser is more hassle than it’s worth. When I start to dispense, there’s always a bit of liquid that comes out first that I have to pour it back in. Sometimes the smoothie is too thick and it just doesn’t come out, even when I turn the blender on low while dispensing. When I’m done dispensing, it always drips a little on the counter. The dispenser also a bit of a pain to clean as there are five parts to it.

So if you are looking for a good blender, I say go for it. If you are looking to be wowed by a smoothie dispensing dream machine, you might not be as impressed.

Customer Review: Good combo but LOUD

This is not a bad product for the price. The blender works well, and chops ice like a champ. The processor does its duty as well - I use this attachment more than the blender, actually.

It’s also very easy to clean. I’ve had this blender/processor for about three months now, I use it just about every day.

But in any combination product like this, one side tends to lose out. In this case it is definitely the food processor - made of all plastic, it seems like it could break easily (though mine has not). The “food processor” speed is no different than the others, really, and ends up pureeing everything you put in. You can’t get a dice or fine chop out of anything.

The motor is also very loud - I feel bad using it in the evenings or mornings sometimes because I worry that I’m waking up or annoying my neighbors.

Overall, though, I’m satisfied with it, and will continue to use it regularly.
Customer Review: Great Small Food Processor~
I’ve had this for a few years and I love it! It is just the right size for 1 person for most things. Once in awhile I do something I would have liked a bigger one, but I don’t really have room for one.

The blender is heavy and solid. The plastic base that attaches to the blender and processor are a bit flimsy so I’m careful with them.

The cheese grater and slicer attachment are also great. Wouldn’t have minded a dough hook or something useful, but guess with the small bowl I wouldn’t need it anyway.
